Fine Chemicals Research Laboratory

About Fine Chemicals Research Laboratory

We’re developing new products and improving existing products in our fine chemicals research laboratory. In addition, we’re also conducting contract manufacturing using our facilities and joint research including development of manufacturing processes that utilize synthesis technology. Recently, we’ve been working on the electronic materials and polymer recycling businesses, and conducting research and development to meet user needs.

Development of manufacturing processes using special raw materials

We manufacture and sell azo polymerization initiators, pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates/active ingredients, and electronic materials etc.., using special raw materials such as hydrazine, hydrocyanic acid, chlorine, and hydrochloric acid. We’re developing manufacturing processes for new products by safely handling highly toxic raw materials and effectively utilizing multi-plants. Chemical products are mainly manufactured at Niigata and Kagawa factories and each factory has a research laboratory so we can work in cooperation with the manufacturing department to develop processes.

Pilot Facility

We have a pilot-scale hazardous materials manufacturing facility in our research laboratory, which can scale up and verify the processes developed by our researchers. It’s possible to carry out reaction using 200~500L stainless steel or glass-lined vessels, and separate into solid and liquid using a centrifuge or pressure filter, and dry the separated powders using a tray dryer.
