October, 2024 Established Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Next Co., INC, through a merger of Japan Finechem and Japan U-pica.

December, 1959 Established Japan Hydradine Company
May, 1961 Opened Sakaide Plant in Sakaide City, Kagawa Prefecture, and started production of hydrazine hydrate
April, 1971 Opened Niigata Plant in Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture, and started production of AZO radical polymerization initiator "ABN-V"
April, 1987 Merged with Japan Fine Chemical Company and took over the chemicals and electronic components divisions as Niigata No. 2 Plant (currently Niigata Plant) and Hiratsuka Plant (currently E&C Plant), respectively
April, 1987 Opened Niigata Research Laboratory (currently Niigata Research Group, Fine Chemicals Research Laboratory) on the Niigata Plant site.
April, 1991 Suceeded Mass production of high resistance chip resistors (HC) at the Hiratsuka Factory.
June, 1996 Merged Niigata Plant No. 1 and No. 2 as Niigata Plant
October, 2005 Changed company name to Japan Finechem Co., INC.

Former Japan U-pica Co., Ltd.

October, 1977 Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. and Toyobo Co., Ltd. merged their unsaturated polyester resin sales divisions and formed Japan U-Pica Company Ltd. The respective manufacturing divisions were established as independent companies Hiratsuka U-Pica Company and Inuyama U-Pica Company.
April, 1982 Acquired unsaturated polyester resin division from Mitsubishi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (currently Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation), and integrated it into Japan U-Pica Company Ltd.
April, 1988 Established Japan Premix Company for the production of sheet molding compound (SMC) in Kani-gun, Gifu Prefecture.
August, 1990 Opened Mine plant in Mine-City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and started production of unsaturated polyester resins and powder coating resins.
April, 1991 Acquired both Hiratsuka U-Pica and Inuyama U-Pica. Hiratsuka U-Pica named Shonan plant and Inuyama U-Pica named Inuyama plant.
October, 1993 Opened New laboratory building on the Shonan plant site.
November, 1994 Listed shares over-the-counter
November, 2003 Closed Inuyama Plant
August, 2007 Established joint-venture company U-Pica Resin (Changshu) Co., Ltd. in China.
March, 2020 Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. conducted TOB for the Company's shares.
July, 2020 Delisted from Tokyo Stock Exchange's JASDAQ Standard section.
October, 2022 Terminated production and sales by U-Pica Resin (Changshu) Co., Ltd.
March, 2023 Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. acquired all shares of the Company held by Toyobo Co., Ltd., making the Company a wholly-owned subsidiary.
